StarSkate

STAR 1-5

The STAR 1-5 program offers the best-in-class figure skating curriculum in Canada, targeting athletes looking for a future in the sport. Taught by Skate Canada NCCP coaches, the program introduces participants to the basic figure skating elements to create the foundation for singles, pairs, ice dance and synchronized skating.

STAR 6- GOLD

STAR 6- Gold is an assessment and event structure for skaters who completed the STAR 1-5 Program. This structure builds on the skills acquired in STAR 1-5 and introduces skaters to more advanced figure skating elements.

Canskate

CANSKATE IS THE LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM WHICH ALL OTHERS ARE MEASURED AGAINST.

CanSkate offers the best curriculum in Canada. Our flagship learn-to-skate program has taught millions of Canadians to reach their recreational and competitive goals on the ice.

The CanSkate program is geared to beginners of all ages…children, adults, newcomers to Canada and athletes with a disability (AWAD). Whether you are looking to improve basic skating skills for figure skating, hockey, ringette or speed skating, or wish to skate for recreation, fitness or fun, CanSkate will get you there.

Conducted in a fun, friendly environment, the CanSkate program showcases a comprehensive series of balance, control and agility skills, using a nationally-tested and proven curriculum that supports skater success in developing stronger basic skills on the ice.

Millions of Canadians, including World and Olympic figure skating champions and National Hockey League stars, have taken their first steps on the ice with the CanSkate program. Offered at clubs and skating schools across Canada and delivered by NCCP coaches, CanSkate will help you realize your skating goals.

The first session for our CanSkaters starts the Tuesday after the long week-end of October and ends in December. The second session begins in January and ends in March.

The first session for our Pre-CanSkaters (3- years old, who have never skated), starts the second Tuesday after the long week-end of October, and ends in December. The second session begins in January and ends in March.

The CanSkate program runs Tuesdays at 6:05 pm AND Saturdays at 10:05 am

The Pre-CanSkate program runs Tuesdays at 6:20 pm AND Saturdays at 10:20 am

Pre Power Skate

Get a step up on the competition with Pre Power Skating, a high-energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey and ringette players. This program focuses on balance, control and agility skills including components of power and speed. Skating skills, techniques and performance drills are taught in a progressive format by Skate Canada coaches certified through the NCCP to enhance the skating ability required in game situations.

The club reserves the right to change the hours and schedule if there are insufficient registrations.

Spring Programs

Now that we have a facility in our community that operates all year round, the club is able to offer a spring session for CanSkate skaters, stage 2 and up as well as to our StarSkaters. The cost for this session is divided by the number of skaters that registers. Please contact us for more information.

The Executive Committee reserves the right to move skaters to equalize sessions and for security reasons.
